Rise to godhood, Love Triangles, and Wyrm Squashing

After destroying the leaders of the Vampire Apocalypse causing an end to Vampires as we know it besides Aelfrik, who is astonishingly resilient, our heroes were picked by their patron gods to become gods themselves. Liam became Stormdancer. Naia became the goddess of Twisted Fate, and Karth became Asher god of Chaos and Destruction. Their first mission which had a few hang ups. One of them being gaining mental control over Karth’s increasingly unstable nature due to his rise to godhood and secrets upon secrets kept by Naia as the love triangle gains in tension and uncomfortablity with Jakob and Aelfrik the gang along with Jakob, Christine, and a newly risen from the dead: Isaac went on their first mission to destroy a Titan creation called the Wyrm which was part of the werewolf Apocalypse.

Currently the events as follows are: Liam and Christine are going to be big heroes amongst their Pantheon. Aelfrik has learned the secret of Naia and Set. Karth pretty much told Hera, who he had become a servant of due to a indiscretion of a flirty nature to take the fact she finds what she wants him to do for her more important then the mission and his colleagues and shove it up her arse.

Deus Irae

During thier recovery, the Scion were once again confronted by the Titans. Informed that each of them were, in fact, vessels for one of the Titans to facilitate their return to the planet, they, willingly or not, forcefully increased the powers of the Scion, declaring that their current level of power was growing too weak to contain the ever increasing presence of the Titan. Now Demigods, the Scion met with Setsuna once again who relayed the information Isaac, a Scion who had traveled to Jerusalem in their stead following the events with ADDER, had garnered. While unable to recover Jakob’s staff, Isaac had learned that the Ark of the Covenant containing Cain’s body was in the hands of the Catholic Church. The Scion, with Max, prepared to travel to Rome to extract the Ark’s location. Upon their arrival however, Liam recieved a call from Setsuna who told him she was under attack by unknown forces and that she had backed up her information should something happen to her. Panicked, Naia and Jakob prepared to fly back to LA with Aelfrik to provide aid while Liam and Max initiated their investigation. As Max manipulated a man into believing he was Christ Reborn and leading a mob to the Vatican as a distracted, Jakob and Naia poured through the phone records of everyone as Jakob announced that only someone who Setsuna had accepted into the Covenant could share the location of their bases. They were horrified to find phone calls implicating Max in the murder and immediately returned to Rome while Liam separated himself from Max with great haste.

Max, realizing he had been made fled with his personal assistant to London where he would plot his next move. The Covenant sent Aelfrik after him, who soon contacted Cheiron whom he knew would also enjoy Max’s death. Meeting up with Tobais Maxwell, John’s estranged brother, Aelfrik prepared to hunt Max as Cheiron kidnapped Tobias’ family to ensure his cooperation. A meeting with Morpheus raised the stakes as Tobias was provided with the contact information of both Max and the Covenant.

In Rome, Naia and Liam prepared to infiltrate the Vatican more…stealthily than Max’s methods. Confronting a meeting of Cardinals within the palace, they seemed to make no headway as Liam’s threats and Naia’s words only served to agitate the one Cardinal willing to speak. Liam extracted himself from the area as Naia enters her ethereal form to follow the talkative Cardinal back to his office. Restraining the urge to cough, a mysterious ailment plaguing her since her recovery from New York, Naia prepared to gather what information she could before returning to the others. Revealing himself as an Exorcist, Cardinal Tirion Fordring invited Naia to speak more freely, no longer in the presence of less informed colleagues. Listening to her words, and appreciating her candor, Tirion agreed to set up a meeting with the Pope, the only man alive who knew the location of the Ark of the Covenant. Successful in her mission, Naia returned to the hotel.

The next night, upon the arrival of Isaac and Christine who relayed the deaths of Setsuna and Hans, Liam, Naia, and Christine returned to the Vatican and met with his Holiness. While the conversation seemed to go well at first, the Pope soon revealed his true colors as a member of Millenium, the revived forces of Nazi Germany. In what some may call a hasty response, Liam killed the Pope with lightning forcing Naia to raise his corpse and extract the information with her power. Possessing this knowledge, the Scion were confronted by Tirion who raged into a fury at their betrayal of his trust. In the scuffle, Naia was seriously injured when Liam struck the Cardinal, the Exorcist using a form of sympathetic binding with Naia at the time. With the forces of the Vatican fast converging on their location, Liam blasted his way through a Titan empowered shield only to find a larger, more powerful one encircling the city as a hole.

Fate seemed to smile upon them however as an embedded agent of Liam’s organization discovered them first and led them into the catacombs deep beneath the city streets, the only method of escape. Slain by Morpheus in the process of escape, Liam and Naia found themselves trapped in a maze of corpses, guided only by the troubled, incoherent ghost of the guard. Morpheus wanted them out of the picture for some time. For what however? And as time counts down to his death, Max must make his first move quickly. And throughout it all, the growing threat of the Vampire elders looms ever present as a dark, twisted form escapes from Chicago.

Blood and Ashes

Naia, sitting at home, recieved a phonecall from Jericho, implying that the body they were keeping in New York until one of their primary doctors could arrive, the entire reason Setsuna ordered Liam to fly there and retrieve information on ADDER, was in fact Aelfrik. Panicking, Naia called Jack who agreed to allow her the use of his private jet to reach New York in time. Little to Naia’s knowledge, Jack was in the hire of Cheiron himself. Poisoned by Kate in flight, Naia was captured by Jericho who, having not been able to decide which part of Naia granted her her powers, began to brainwash the Scion into serving him completely, utilizing his hyponotic voice and the alluring properties of Alyssia’s eyes as well as more….physical means.

Liam and Max arrived in New York, discovering Naia’s predicament soon after. With no leads to follow and Aelfrik and Jakob on the case, they pushed forward with their mission. Gaining entry into the hidden North Tower of the World Trade Center, Liam and Max were surprised to find themselves welcome. Meeting Dr. Boom, Dr. Sense’s partner, they were informed on the abilities of ADDER. From the living weapon Lobo, to the poison kiss of Kate. From the wholly electronic Geist, to the supernatural sniper Spectre. Upon questioning the reasoning behind his generosity, Dr. Boom informed them that ADDER was setting an ambush as they talked, using the Scion to gather information on the capabilities of the team. Exiting the laboratory, Liam and Max prepared themselves for combat.

Bloodied and battered, Liam and Max emerged triumphant from their confrontation though in the process they accepted a deal with their Titan antagonists, granting them massive temporary power and more subtle long term changes. With ADDER dead save Kate who escaped in the midst, Max was forced to accept an emergency transplant from Dr. Sense in order to temporarily counteract the poison Kate had used on him. Liam too was sedated, his arm practically severed in the process of his battle with Spectre.

Awaking days later, the Scion were informed on the location of Jericho’s home. Arriving there with the Aesir, a contingent of mortal Covenant troops, they were appalled to find that Jericho’s brainwashing seemed to have been successful as a scantily clad Naia hung on his every word. Untouchable due to his shadowy properties, Jericho mocked them both with his triumphs, taking amusement in their pain. A fast thinking Max managed to injure Jericho however as he solidified his arm to hold Naia. Springing from hiding, Aelfrik threw the stake Jericho had used on him earlier through Liam, and specifically through Jericho’s blood that had spattered on the Scion, striking Jericho in the chest and forcefully solidifying him. Liam took great pleasure in blowing the ADDER leader’s head off.

Naia however had struck her own unwilling deal with a Titan during the chaos, giving her the power to break free from Jericho’s mental control. Jericho’s ghost however prayed on her weakness following his assaults on her causing her to lose control and attack her friends, raising Jericho’s decapitated body as some type of empowered zombie. Through Aelfrik’s intervention however, Naia managed to snap back to herself in time to stop her attack though her actions horrified her.

The threat of ADDER solved, for now, the Scion returned home to rest and come to grips with what had happened to them over the last days. Max began counting his days, a month until the poison overtook him, a month to find Kate and retrieve the antidote.

Upon returning to LA, Max was put to the test. Jack and Jakob, individually, confronted him on his action, forcing him to utilize his God’s Honest knack against them to defend himself. Watched secretly by camera, Setsuna called Max out on the use of his powers against those he called his Allies. Offering him an ultimatum, to relay the information he learned in Italy, Setsuna was forced to eject Max from the Covenant when he attempted to negotiate with her. As he prepared to leave, Jakob revealed that while their mission had been a success, Alyssia had died in the extraction, taken by Jericho and found missing her eyes. Meeting with Liam and Naia after Max’s departure, Setsuna spoke on what Max had earlier told them regarding the Covenant’s true goals. She admitted that they were indeed attempting to hasten the Apocalypse, to cause it to occur sooner rather than later in an attempt to save as many lives as possible. When the Titans awaken after the conclusion of the Apocalypse, Setsuna intended to capture them within a new world of their own creation, one caught in a perpetual loop of birth and rebirth, thus trapping the Titans within it, away from Earth.

Setsuna tasked the Scion with discovering a way to find Cain’s blood in order to defeat the Antidelluvians. After much thought, they agreed to contact the Aegis Kai Doru, curators of relics of ages past and offer them Alyssia’s former relics in exchange for information. A confrontation with Jericho immediately outside Mr. Ramen’s but a damper on their resolve but Naia nonetheless posted the relics on Ebay and arranged a meeting with a buyer. The buyer turned out to be Neal, a member of the Aegis Kai Doru who agreed to search their impressive store of information in exchange for the relics. They agreed to meet in Jerusalem two days later.

All seemed to be going well, until Liam received a phonecall from Jericho, imploring him to go home because “someone is waiting for you”. Upon arriving he discovered the body of Coach Mike, killed by Kate “Widow” Illena. Ripped apart emotionally, Liam buried his mentor at sea and made his troubled way to Naia’s boat where he collapsed in grief. The next day, Setsuna released the Scion to finish ADDER who had proven themselves far too persistent and dangerous to be allowed to live. Liam called Max in his blind fury and both took the first flight to New York, leaving the non-combatant Naia behind.

Setting the Stage

Max, taking matters into his own hand, traveled to the Vatican without informing Alyssia. There, he met a representative of the Lucifuge, an organization made up of those claiming lineage to Satan. There he was informed that the Covenant, far from the innocent organization it had seemed to be, was actually attempting the bring about the Apocalypse far sooner than intended. In addition, the representative warned Max of the Vatican’s connection with some offshoot of the Nazi Party that had survived WWII. After his meeting, and a brief run in with Gaia, Max received a call informing him that his unexcused absence in the midst of an important missions had pushed Setsuna to remove him from the blood retrieval team, cutting him off in fear of his rogue tendencies. Angered and feeling wronged, Max turned his attention to Liam and Naia who he agreed to meet in Tokyo to aid them in their own search for information.

Keeping Max’s presence a secret, the Scion traveled deep below the streets of Tokyo into abandoned subway tunnels. Watched by countless invisible eyes, they met with the fleshy montrosity that was Tzimisce. Seemingly nothing more than a giant wall of flesh, Tzimisce nonetheless spoke to the Scion regarding the antidelluvians. Claiming that they had overcome their hereditary weaknesses, Tzimisce proclaimed that only Cain’s blood could weaken them sufficiently to be slain. While pondering this information, Tzimisce attacked, intending to utilize their abilities to strengthen his own clan for the upcoming vampire war. Max and Liam escaped thanks to Naia’s willing capture. A short time later, Naia made her own escape through her Ethereal Jaunt boon though not before experiencing the horrors of Fleshcrafting for herself. United once again, the Scion fled Tokyo back to LA where Max and Naia would share what they had learned with Setsuna.

The Aftermath

Fleeing Chicago, the Scions found themselves in Los Angelas, rebuilding their lives and laying low as the Covenant recovered from the loss of the city. In a surprise operation, member of Cheiron Group’s Primary Procurement Unit ADDER were able to obtain a sample of Max’s blood to be analyzed. In the aftermath, Coach Mike informed Naia of the ill intentions of ADDER’s leader: Jericho. Meeting with the covenant the next day, the Scion split up in order to assess the options presented to them. Liam and Naia traveled to Las Vegas to meet with Jack, the chief financier of the Covenant and Scion of Hades. He introduced them to a representative of the Tzimisce vampire clan who offered information on how to defeat Gangrel in exchange for technolgy and a promies of a demonstration of Liam and Naia’s divine abilities. Over the course of the coversation, the represenattive revealed that Tzimisce, the antidelluvian founder of his clan had also awakened some time in the past and awaited their meeting in Tokyo.

Meanwhile, Max traveled to Munich Germany in the company of Alyssia, a Scion of Aphrodite. Despite giving Max’s advances the cold sholder, Alyssia introduced him to the Covenant’s contact within Cheiron: Dr. Jonathan Sense, an experimental bioimplantation surgeon. Dr. Sense informed Max where his blood was being kept and gave him the means to access that lab. It would be up to Max to penentrate Cheiron’s defenses in order to get to that point. As they parted ways, Dr. Sense warned Max of ADDER’s return to Munich, presumably following Max’s trail. He did mention that ADDER would be making a stop along the way for what Jericho claimed was “R&R”. Max’s time is running out quickly though as ADDER visits Las Vegas it is perhaps Liam and Naia who are in the most immediate danger.

And through it all the mysterious contact Judas Redeemed has contacted Max, urging him to visit the Vatican, claiming that everything that has happened just far is nothign but a screen put up over the truth of the world.

Paths open and close as the Scions fight against a world that seems to be falling apart. And thoughout it all, a figure lurks in the shadows plotting, scheming, dreaming about the stage set before him.

Fate's Record

A trio of Scions: Max, Liam, and Naia, were exposed to reflections of the Titans on this world. Contacted by the Covenant they were brought into its fold, offered the protection it extends to those touched directly by the Titans and thus marked by their spawn. Attacked that night by agents of the Cheiron Group due to Max’s failure they took shelter in a Covenant safehouse. This temporary safety was soon abandoned however as news of the discovery of the Arkanham Sarcophagus and its transport to Chicago reached them. Tasked with retrieving it by both their mysterious correspondant and the leader of the Covenant, Setsuna, the group infiltrated the Field Museum.

In the deepest depths of the Museum the Sarcophagus was found open, it’s contents, the Antidilluvian vampire Gangrel, loosed upon the city. After a high speed chase which left both Jakob and Naia seriously injured, Gangrel broke away to regain his true strength after sleeping for millenia.
